The man. The myth. The

loved fried chicken and mashed potatoes

that order. He hated country music and
hypocrites. Not necessarily in that
order. He was also pretty good at
growing a garden and making a mean pot
of hot chili. Mike loved to tell
stories, and you could be sure that 50%
of that story was true. Mike loved to

Tony
L. Curry, age 61, of Oakwood, Texas
passed away on August 5th, 2013, in his
home. He was born on June 19, 1952, in
Conroe, Texas, to Tommie Van and Emma
Pearl Curry. His parents precede him in
death.
Tony is survived by his two daughters,
Amber Curry Gracia, wife of Rene Gracia,
of Dallas, Texas, and their children,
Roman and Siena Gracia; Hayley Jackson,
wife of Brian Jackson of Weatherford,
Texas, and their children, Gage Nethery
and Londyn Jackson; and one son, Tyler
Curry of Dallas, Texas. The youngest of
four children, he is also survived by
two brothers, John Curry, husband to

Texas; and his sister Connie Gordon,

He is also survived by his first love,
only love and mother of his three
children, Nannetta Curry of Bedford

Tony was a nomad of sorts. He liked a
simple way of life and was always more
at home amongst the trees than in the
confines of any four walls. Just as his
wild curly hair couldn’t be tamed,
neither could his spirit. In his younger
years, he played the drums way too loud,
raced dirt bikes way too fast and
preferred fireworks of the illegal kind.
To his children, he will always be their
curly-headed hooligan; racing down the
asphalt in their beat up yellow go-cart
with a gleeful child in tow, holding on
for dear life.

Patricia Chron Nichols, age 70, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2022,
after a 7 month battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer. She was born March
10, 1952, in Houston, Texas to Wilbern “Sam” and Ethel Ercelle Chron. She
lived her entire life in Montgomery County, Texas. Her unwavering faith in
her Heavenly Father began at an early age when she accepted Christ as a
young child at Mims Baptist Church where she was brought up learning about
the Lord. She attended Conroe schools and graduated from Conroe High School
in 1970. She married her “Cowboy”, Robert Nichols II, at Security Baptist
Church on March 31, 1972. They were blessed to celebrate over 50 years of
marriage this year.
She had various jobs throughout her life working at the Conroe Courier,
Montgomery County Tax Office and being a stay at home Mom raising her girls.
She recently retired from the Montgomery County Library Genealogy Department
after 25 years of service.
She cherished raising her daughters, while providing them with a strong
foundation of how to live a life pleasing to the Lord in all she did.
Her greatest pride and joy was being “GIGi” to her grandchildren. She was
always there for them when they were sick. She could be found in the stands
cheering them on at sporting events and taking lots of pictures. She spoiled
them every time she had the chance, with slumber parties that included
brownies, Blue Bell ice cream, and her famous popcorn.
She made her house a home for all who entered. Her passion for home cooked
meals, her love of having all of her family together, always putting others
first, and her warm and gentle spirit will be greatly missed.
She took joy in being a faithful member of Cook Springs Baptist Church in
Huntsville, Texas. She served in many capacities but her favorite was
serving as the Pastor’s wife. She was affectionately named by the
congregation as “The First Lady” throughout her 17 year membership, where
her husband still pastors. She ministered to him while he ministered to the
church. She is much loved and will be terribly missed by her church family.
To know Pat was to love her. If you were blessed to be touched by her, then
you understand the imprint she left on our hearts far exceeds the quantity
of time she lived here on earth.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Emma Grace
Reaves. She is survived by her husband, Robert Nichols II, her two daughters
Amber (Tim) Ivey, Kari (Scott) Reaves; grandchildren Lane and Avery Reaves,
Caden and Cameron Ivey; her brother, Sammy Chron; her beloved mother in law,
Merlene Nichols and various nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home from 6-8 pm on Sunday,
December 4, 2022. Services will be held at Cashner on December 5, 2022, at
10:00 am with Dr. Bob Pitman officiating. A private interment will follow at

Caden Ivey, Cameron Ivey, Scott Fulp, Luke Jones and Logan Jones. Honorary
Pallbearers are Sammy Chron, Don Yates, Gene McCafferty, Donnie Johnson,

The family would like to thank Cook Springs Baptist Church for their many
acts of kindness to the family throughout this difficult journey. They would
also like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice and Kristy Holcomb for the
wonderful care they gave to Pat in her final days. In lieu of flowers,

Diane Cranford Strunk, age 70 years, of
Katy, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March
8, 2023.
Diane was born on August 29, 1952, to
Leon H. and Jewel Evelyn (Walker) Cranford
in Conroe, Texas. Diane graduated from
Conroe High School in 1970 and continued on
to complete her bachelor’s degree at Baylor
in December, 1973. Later she finished her
master's degree in counseling at UH-Clear
Lake. In 1982, Diane married the love of her
life, Paul Strunk, on March 13, exactly
thirteen months after they met. Diane and
Paul went on to raise three children: Chris,
Mike, and Jennifer. Paul will never forget
her gorgeous smile and how she always tried
to ensure everyone was happy and cared for.
He and Diane shared a decade-long tradition
started by Mike at New Braunfels High School
on "Tell your Mom you love her Tuesdays"
that evolved into "I love my wife
Wednesdays!".
Diane enjoyed a thirty-year career at Katy
High School prior to retirement, and
throughout it all she epitomized grace,
compassion, faith, service and embodied
every fruit of the spirit. In her
retirement, Diane loved to spend her free
time reading, playing candy crush, and going
out with friends to enjoy a steak at the
Taste of Texas. In addition, she thoroughly
loved baking like her mother and made cakes
for all occasions: kids’ birthdays,
weddings, KARE fundraisers and friends'
anniversaries. She enjoyed traveling with
her family; her most memorable trips were
cruises, Panama City Beach, and Disney World
with her grandbabies.
Diane is survived by her husband of 41
years, Paul Strunk; children, Chris Strunk
and wife Sarah, Mike Strunk and wife
Lindsey, Jennifer Strunk Slater and her
husband Chase; grandchildren Alex, Ryan,
