MANSFIELD, LA - A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Estella DeSoto will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mansfield, LA. Father Larry Niehoff will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Carmel Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Chapel at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA, with a Vigil honoring the life of Mrs. DeSoto beginning at 6:00 PM.

Estella Lacobee DeSoto, 93, was born August 24, 1916 in Stonewall, LA to Sylvester Joseph Lacobee and Louise Middleton Lacobee and entered into rest on September 6, 2009 at Grace Home in Shreveport, LA. Estella was a homemaker and helped her husband run their General Store on Clear Lake.

Mrs. DeSoto is preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester J. and Louise Middleton Lacobee; husband, Theo DeSoto; siblings: Thelma Haigler, Helen Wiswall, Nettie Nelson, S.J. Lacobee and Sidney Lacobee.

Left here to cherish her memory are her children: Martha DeSoto, Jane DeSoto Law, Ted DeSoto and wife, Kitty, and Glenn DeSoto and wife, Kathy, grandchildren: Lisa Wellborn and husband, Jeff, Phyllis Cancienne and husband, Sam, Leslie McCormack and husband, Jimmy, Holly Reynolds and husband, Jason, Abigail DeSoto, Heather DeSoto and Jared DeSoto, great-grandchildren: Madeline Wellborn, Jordan Wellborn, Sam Cancienne, Jr., Renee Cancienne and Evangeline Marie Reynolds,

Honoring Mrs. DeSoto as Pallbearers will be Jared DeSoto, Jordan Wellborn, Jeff Wellborn, Sam Cancienne, Jason Reynolds and Jimmy McCormack.
