Funeral services for Eli Bellville were held on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at
St. John Baptist Church in Chappell Hill, Texas with Rev Jessie Turner,
Pastor/Officiant.
Interment was in Carlie Cemetery in Chappell Hill,
Texas.
Pallbearers were Craig Crawford, Reginald Crawford, Cedric Green, Darrell
Leaks, Michael Leaks and Donald Washington.
Honorary Pallbearers were Troy
Dickerson, Johnnie Jackson, Lloyd Turner, Jr., A.C. Bellville, Robert
Bellville and Jessie Turner, Jr.
He was born on July 5,1935 to George and Lillie (Lockett) Bellville. He
grew
up in the Buckhorn and Bellville community where he attended church and
public school. Eli confessed and gave his life to Christ at an early age
in
Buckhorn, Texas where he attended Samuel Chapel A.M.E. Church. Later in
life
he united with St. John Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member
under the leadership of Rev A.B. Bennett and later Rev Jessie Turner. Mr.
Bellville and Miss Annie Mae Chapel were united in Holy Matrimony on
September 14, 1961. This union was blessed with one daughter.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Annie Mae Bellville, daughter
Verna
Bellville both of Bellville, Texas, step-daughters Patsy Williams of
Bellville and Mary Jo Edwards of Houston, Texas, two grandchildren, four
step-grandchildren, six step-great grandchildren, sisters Mrs. Mattie
Turner, Mrs. Lillie Turner (Willie), and Mrs. Elnora Nicholson all of
Bellville, Texas and Mrs. Georgia Wade of Houston, Texas, half-brother Mr.
Bennie Galloway of Houston, Texas, a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, fours sisters and seven brothers.
Funeral services were entrusted to Diggs Funeral Home in Bellville, Texas.
