Childers
Funeral services for Mary Childers, 80, of Sealy, Texas were held Tuesday,
May 27, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in
Sealy with Rev. Octavio Muguerza celebrating the funeral mass and rite of
committal.
A Vigil wake service was held Monday, May 26, 2003 at 7 p.m.
followed by a rosary from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Sealy.
Interment
was at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Sealy.
Pallbearers were Duke Gilleland, Steve Gilleland, Robert Heger, Charles
Hluchan, Jr., David Marek and Mike Moore.
Born in Sealy, Texas Mary Elizabeth Hluchan was the daughter of Henry and
Frances (Zaruba) Hluchan. She grew up in Sealy and attended the Sealy
Catholic School. On January 16, 1944, the former Miss Hluchan and Mr. Buck
Childers were married with ceremony held in San Marcos. Mary was a member
of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Sealy American Legion Auxiliary,
Sealy KJZT and Sealy Catholic Daughters.
Mary Elizabeth Childers died Friday May 23, 2003 in Sealy, Texas.
Survived by her son and daughter-in-law Larry and Alice Childers from
Richmond, Texas, sisters, brothers and their spouses Claudia Moore of
Bellaire, Ann and Alvin Marek of Wallis, Charles and Lottie Hluchan of
Sealy, Dorothy Gilleland of Temple, F.W. Hluchan of Sealy, grandchildren
Lisa Burkhalter and husband Craig of Honolulu, Hawaii, and great
grandchildren Camryn and Emma Burkhalter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents Henry and Frances Hluchan, husband Buck
Childres, two infant brothers William F. and Henry S. Hluchan, and an
infant
sister Frances M. Hluchan.

Funeral services under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels,
Sealy, Texas.
