A Parish rosary was said for Rudolph "Rudy" Chovanec Monday April 21,
2003 at 10 a.m. with funeral service following at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Ellinger, Texas with Msgr. Ben Mazurkiewicz officiating. Interment was at
St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Ellinger, Texas.
Pallbearers were Edward R. Chovanec, Ben Chovanec, Robert Chovanec,
Kenneth Noska, Roy Noska and Leland Noska.
He was born September 22, 1924 in Brushy Community to parents Ben J. and
Julie (Prihoda) Chovanec. In Oct. of 1947 he married Leona Noska Chovanec
who preceded him in death on Dec. 29, 1998. He was a lifelong resident in
Bushy Community and was a heavy equipment operator employed by Sprint.
Rudolph C. "Rudy" Chovanec passed away April 18. 2003 at the age of 78 at
the Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, Texas.
Survived by daughter and son-in-law Rebecca Lynn and John Koch of Brushy,
Texas, sons and daughters-in-law David Wayne and Donna Chovanec of
Bellville, Texas and Rudolph D. and Donna Chovanec of Brushy, Texas,
sister Sophie Becka of Ellinger, Texas, brother Ben Chovanec of Santa Anna
Community, Texas, grandchildren Jennifer, Braden, Brittany and Johnathan
Chovanec, Andrew and Patricia Koch and special friend Dorothy Pancik of
Columbus, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ben. J and Julie Prihoda Chovanec,
wife Leona Chovanec, brothers Eddie and Emil Chovanec and grandchildren
Austin and Hannah Chovanec.
