Obituary LaVerne Theresa (Fisher) Cook
Funeral services for LaVerne Theresa (Fisher) Cook were held Monday, Jan 20, 2003 at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Jeff English officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Knoll Cemetery. She was born Sept. 13, 1917 in Bellville, Austin County, Texas, the daughter of Grattis and Edna (Ludwig) Fisher. She grew up and attended school in Bellville. After graduating from Bellville High School, she attended Blinn and Texas A&M. On June 23, 1943 she united in marriage with Tommy Cook. They made their home in Bellville where they were active members of the First Baptist Church. During her working years, LaVerne taught school in Bellville and in the surrounding rural schools. She enjoyed fishing. LaVerne Theresa (Fisher) Cook passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2003 in Bryan Texas. She is survived by her daughters Darla Freire and her husband Robert and Bonnie Hohlt and her special friend Adam Nunes all of Bellville; grandchildren Kim Holle and her husband Jason of Brenham, Ronald Hohlt and his wife Crystal of Independence, Jennifer Sisco and her husband Kevin of Tomball; great-grandchildren, Amber Castillo, Jacey, Kaitlyn and Lanae Holle, Lillly Hohlt, Keaton, Trent and Samantha Sisco; sister Nell Woodward of Brazoria and many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband and brother James Fisher.
