A memorial service for George Gann were held on Saturday, September 13,
2003 at the family home.
He was born May 31, 1937 in Sulligent, Alabama, the son of James A. and
Minnie Estelle Hollis Gann. He grew up and attended school in Hamilton,
Alabama graduating in 1957. At the age of 18 he became a truck driver for
independent freight lines.
On September 27, 1975 he married Terry Primo in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Having lived in many southern states, George and Terry have made their home in
Sealy, Texas since 1996. A country boy at heart, George loved horses,
country music and all children.
George Ray Gann, 66, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2003 after a
courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by wife of almost 28 years Terry Gann of Sealy, 4 sons Rick
Gann and his wife Jeanna of Tennessee, Jim Burgess and his wife Candy of
California, Bill Burgess of Oregon and Scott Gann and his wife Cynthia of
Sealy, 2 daughters Kathleen Foster and her husband Scott of Lakeside
Village and Laura Kelner and her husband Donnie of Rosenberg. He is also survived
by
3 granddaughters Kaitlin Gann, Madison and Elena Burgess, sister Carolyn
Reeves and her husband Cliffton of Sulligent, Alabama and cousin Kelley
Flynn and his wife Joan of Sealy and many other dear friends and
relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son David Gann.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home,
Bellville, Texas.
