Wilbert H. Glaser, 84, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in Trinity Medical
Center.
He was born March 11, 1919 to Paul and Hilda (Ahrens) Glaser in the
Welcome-Bleiblerville Community of Austin County, Texas. He was baptized
April 20, 1919 and confirmed October 23, 1932 by Rev. Appel in Welcome
Lutheran Church.
He was married to Helen Lindemann Glaeser and a member of
Welcome Lutheran Church and was engaged in farming and ranching.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Irene and
Burgess Goeke.
Mr. Glaeser is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Glaeser of
Bleiblerville, son Gene and wife Charlotte Glaeser of Bleiblerville,
daughters Darlain and husband Frank C. Surovik of Brenham and Bonnie and
husband Julian Bolcerek of Brenham, grandchildren Mike and Renicko
Lindquist, Ritchie and Patricia Surovik, Glenda Remirez, Gene R. Glaeser,
Jr., and Craig Glaeser, and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2003 in Salem
Lutheran Church of Welcome with Rev. Bill Mosley officiating. Burial
followed in the church cemetery.
Pallberaers were Timothy Klaus, Leroy Brending, Burgess DeWayne Goeke, Roy
Goeke, Daniel Dierking and Billy Warmke. Honorary pallbearers were his
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Welcome.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, Brenham,
Texas.
