Funeral services for Charlie Bryan Graham, 76, of Needville were
held on
Friday, Dec. 5, 2003 from Nelsonville Brethren Church with Rev.
Harvey Abke
officiating. The service began at 11 a.m. Interment was in the
National
Cemetery in Nelsonville.
Serving as pallbearers were A.G. Ollre, Dr. Russell Stander Jr.,
Guiton
Ragsdale, Mike Fryar, Dude Smith, Billy Butcher and Darrell Farmer.
Mr. Graham was born in Houston, Texas to parents Charlie and Margie
(Parker)
Graham. He was raised in the Houston area and attended Regan High
School.
After serving his country in the United States Navy, he began a
career
working for the Harris County Sheriffs office and later the City of
Houston
as Health Inspector. Charlie married Shirley Platte in Nelsonville
on July
16, 1957. A lifelong rodeo participant, Charlie was inducted to the
Texas
Professional Cowboy Association Hall of Fame in 1999.
Charlie Bryan Graham died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 in Richmond,
Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Graham of Needville;
son
Charlie "Boots" Graham and wife Kim of Damon; daughter Patti Marie
Dotson
and husband Lester of Magnolia; grandsons Casey Bryan Graham and
Thomas
Joseph Burnett; numerous great grandchildren, and many many friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Margie
Graham,
brother Thomas Graham and sister Lucy Butcher.
