Graveside services were held for Edna (von Roeder) Haverlah of New Ulm on
Friday, May 9, 2003 from the Haverlah Family Cemetery in New Ulm with
Reverend Bill Mosley officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were John Hardin, Dan De Young, Larry Reichle,
Patrick Hutton, Charlie Brokmeyer and John Rabon.
She was born Oct. 2, 1923 the daughter of the late Bruno and Erna
(Henniger) von Roeder near Warrenton, Texas and was a native of Shelby. She married
Alton B. Haverlah in 1945 in Shelby and worked as a secretary for several
businesses and in the courthouse in Bellville. She lived in the Heights
area
of Houston for several years before returning to New Ulm where she owned
and
operated the Parlor Cafe. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church
in
New Ulm.
Edna (von Roeder) Haverlah, 79, of New Ulm, Texas passed away May 5, 2003
in
Columbus.
She is survived by son Randy Haverlah of New Ulm, son-in-law Patrick
Hutton
of Houston, grandchildren, Susie De Young and husband Dan of Katy, Dixie
Hardin and husband John of Bellville, Randy and Jacob Haverlah, both of
New
Ulm, great grandchild Brady Haverlah, brother Elton von Roeder and wife
Helen of Houston, sister Wilma Reichle and husband I.A. (Coke) of New Ulm,
numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Erna (Henniger) von
Roeder, husband Alton B. Haverlah and daughter Susan Hutton.
Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
