Funeral services for July Ann Dangle Levassar were held at 10 a.m. Friday,
August 15, 2003 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville with
Reverend Matthew Jacobs officiating. Graveside service followed in the
Chandler Cemetery in Chandler, Texas at 4 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Glass, Bud Ralph, Ronnie Primrose, Billy
Jack Adams, Jason Levassar, Jayce Levassar, Lodie Adams and John Streckfuss.
She was born January 30, 1935 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the daughter of
Adam and Marie Croom Daigle. She grew up and attended school in Jennings.
After graduating from high school, she attended McNiece State University.
On May 20, 1954, Judy married Larry Levassar. They made their home in Jasper
until 1955 when they moved to Tyler. In 1959 they returned to Jasper. From
1969 until 1979, they lived in Brookshire. Larry was employed by Stewart
and Stevenson until 1978. Judy and Larry moved to Powell, Wyoming in May 1979.
Larry preceded Judy in death on September 26, 1979. For the past 7 years,
Judy has made her home in Bellville, Texas.
For 5 1/2 years, Judy had worked on the Apollo 11 Project. She had also
been employed as a medical transcriber for 17 years. She enjoyed oil painting
and antiques.
A loving mom, friend and witness for Jesus to all who knew her, Judy Ann
Dangle Levassar passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at her home in
Bellville after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 68
years old.
Judy is survived by her children Jay Levassar and Linda Steckfuss and her
husband John, both of Bellville, grandchildren Jason Levassar, Larry Jayce
Levassar, Audrey Leighann Steckfuss and Madison Elizabeth Streckfuss and
great grandchildren Cody Blane Levassar, Cassandra Renee Levassar and
Alleya Leona Levassar. She is also survived by her sister Connie Beth Adams of
St. Francisville, Louisiana, and many other dear friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
