Bellville Times
Mary Evelyn Bell Owens, 92, a longtime resident of Dallas and
recently of Waxahachie went to Heaven, Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003.
She was born July 28, 1911 in Galveston to Leigh and Eva Bell
Springfield.
When her mother died, she went to live with her grandmother Bell and
took the Bell name. The Bell family were pioneers of Bell County and
the town of Bellville bears their name.
Mary married William Alvah Rankin. He preceded her in death and she
later married Paul Owens, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include son Ralph Foster Rankin of Dallas; granddaughters
and their husbands, Donna and Ronald Dean Adams of Italy, Lisa and
Hal Lasater of Waxahachie and Karen and Jeffrey Brock of Ennis;
grandson Mike Taylor of Huntsville, great grandchildren Rachel
Adams, Aaron Tamez, Sean Tamez, Joseph Tamez, Lauren Tamez, Heather
Brock, Tyler Brock and Michael Taylor, Jenna Taylor and Ryan Taylor
of Burdignin, France.
Funeral services were held FrDec. 12, 2003 at 10 a.m. from the
Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Oak
Knoll
Cemetery in Bellville.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin
Funeral
Home.
