Funeral services for Agnes Hlozek Prokop, 92, of Brenham, Texas were held
Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at 10 a.m. from Guardian Angel Catholic Church in
Wallis, Texas with Rev. Richard Johnston, S.C.J. celebrating the funeral
and rite of committal. Entombment was in the Guardian Angel Mausoleum.
Born in Wheelock, Texas, Agnes was the daughter of Jan and Agnes (Nemec)
Hlozek. About 1918, they moved to the East Bernard Community where she was
raised and attended school.
Agnes and Frank Prokop married in 1930. They had four sons. She was a lifelong homemaker. When her husband died November 20, 1993, they had been married 63 years. Agnes spent most of her life as a farm wife in the Bernard Prairie Community.
They were members of Guardian Angel Catholic Community since 1930, where she was a member of K.J.Z.T. Herlater years were spent in Kruse Village Care Center in Brenham, Texas.
Agnes Hlozek Prokop died June 23, 2003.
Her survivors are sons Richard and wife Annette Prokop of Montgomery, Ben
and wife Hedy Prokop of Trinity, Wilfred and wife Pamela Prokop of
Brenham and John Prokop of Richmond, sister Bessie Kramr of East Bernard, brother
William Hlozek and wife Geraldine of La Grange, sister-in-law, Mary
Prokop, twelve grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents Jan and Agnes Hlozek, husband Frank Prokop,
sisters Mary Faltisek, Mary Bartos, brothers Rudolph and Frank Spurny and
granddaughter Patricia Cooper.
Funeral services under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels,
Wallis, Texas.
