Funeral services for Patsy Rider, 76, of Wharton, Texas (formerly of
Wallis) were held Thursday, September 11, 2003 at 9 a.m. from Guardian Angle
Catholic Church in Wallis with Rev. Richard Johnston, S.C.J. celebrating
the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment was at Oak- land Cemetery in
Navasota, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers were David Cervenka, Jay Cervenka, Rolf Krueger II,
Matthew Cornejo and Steven Harper.
Born Patsy Ruth Miller in Pittsburg, Texas, the daughter of Johnnie and
Ethel (Mullins) Miller. She was raised in Navasota, graduated from
Navasota High School and was a graduate of Jeff Davis Nursing School with a
Registered Nursing degree. In April of 1949, Patsy and Mr. Bill Rider were
married with ceremony held at St. Lukes Methodist Church in Houston. Patsy
was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and she enjoyed spending
time with her family and friends.
Patsy Ruth Rider died Sunday, September 7, 2003 in Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Clair and Rolf Krueger of
Wallis, Patsy and Steven Harper of Richmond; sons John Rider of Los
Angeles, California, William Rider, Jr., of Houston; grandchildren Matthew,
Christine, Kelly, Melissa, Cara Beth, Rolf II and three great
grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents Johnnie and Ethel Miller, husband Bill
Rider, brothers Albert and Johnny Miller, sisters Ethel Clair Miller and
Mary Lawson.
Funeral services under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels,
Wallis, Texas.
