Funeral services for Laura Cortez Rodriguez, 64, of Monaville
formerly of
East Bernard were held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003 at 10 a.m. from
CrossRoad
Assembly of God Church in East Bernard with Pastor George Kutach
officiating. Burial was in the Czech National Cemetery in East
Bernard.
Serving as pallbearers were Thomas Cortez, John Cortez, Jr., John
Cortez
III, George Molina, Greg Molina and honorary pallbearer Tony Molina
Jr.
Laura was born in Flatonia, Texas to parents Isabel and Victoria
Melchor.
She was raised in the Flatonia and East Bernard areas and attended
school
there. Her love for others and their well being was evident in her
choice of
occupation of Nurse Aide at a local nursing home. She was a member
of
CrossRoad Assembly of God Church in East Bernard.
Laura Cortez Rodriguez died on Friday, Nov. 6, 2003 in Monaville,
Texas.
She is survived by her parents Isabel and Victoria Melchor,
daughters Linda
Kutch and husband George of East Bernard, Gloria Cortex of East
Bernard,
sons John Cortez Jr. of Covington Georgia and Thomas Cortez of Eagle
Lake,
sisters Lucy Molina and husband George of Waller, Alice Hernandez
and
husband Felix of East Bernard and Dora Molina and husband Tony of
Rosenberg,
brother Martin Melchor of Lissis, grandchildren Rebecca Munoz and
John
Cortez III, and great grandchildren Isacc Munoz and Hannah Munoz.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Joshua Cortez.
Funeral services are under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral
Chapel,
Wallis, Texas.
