Funeral services for Daisy Irene Snell, 95, of Houston, Texas were held
Monday, June 2, 2003 at 10 a.m. from Long Point Baptist Church in Houston,
Texas with Rev. Virgil Brown officiating. Interment was at the Memorial
Oaks
Cemetery in Houston.
Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons.
Daisy Irene Harris was born in Valiant, Oklahoma on March 28, 1908 to
Christopher C. Harris and Josephine (Skinner) Harris. She was raised in
Valiant, Oklahoma and attended public school there.
On January 21, 1936, in Hollis Oklahoma, Daisy I. Harris and Lee W. Snell
were married. She devoted her life caring for her family and children, not
only at her church and school but in her home. She was a lifelong
homemaker and a member of Long Point Baptist Church where she was a very faithful
member.
Daisy I. Snell passed away Friday, May 30, 2003 in Houston, Texas.
Survived by her daughters Ida Ruth Piper of Houston, Rena Lee Smith and
husband Willie of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Jocie S. Kaufeler and husband
Robert of League City, Texas and Lovie M. Harrison and husband Peter of
Houston, sons Riley E. Snell and wife Phyllis of Arygile, New York and
James M. Snell and wife Beverly of Bellville, Texas, brother Johnny Harris of
Sweet Home, Oregon and sisters, Opal Burdick of Paris, Texas and Ethel
Ussery of Lake Jackson, Texas, 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren
and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Waltrip Funeral Home in Houston,
Texas.
