Funeral services for Elton Tiemann, of Brenham, were held on Saturday,
April 26 at St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem with pastors Sid Bohls and
Bob Myers officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leon Januszewski, Johnny Ruffer, Billy Joe Ruffer, Dennis
Snell, Rodney Weidemann, Charles Heller, Marty Martin, Bill Collier and
Alfred Kelm.
Honorary pallbearers were Washington County Go Texan
Committee and employees of Star Party Rentals.
Mr. Tiemann was born April 26, 1942 in Brenham, Texas to Erwin Robert and
Lillie Hopmann Tiemann. He was baptized in St. James Lutheran Church in
New Wehdem and was confirmed in the same church by Rev. Perry.
He was a 1960
graduate of Brenham High School, a 1962 graduate of Blinn College and a
1964 graduate of Sam Houston State University. Mr. Teimann served active duty
in the National Guard.
On Aug. 29, 1964, he was married to Linda Lou Morgan in First Baptist
Church in Hearne by Rev. Lyles. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in
New Wehdem, where he taught Sunday school and served on the council as
chairman and secretary/treasurer. A member of BPOE 979, Mr. Tiemann served
as past exalted ruler and district deputy governor. He coached Little
League, was chairman of the March of Dimes, was a lifetime member of Go
Texan Committee of the Houston Livestock Committee and was a member of the
Exchange Club and Brenham Jaycees. He was a former member of the Brenham
Evening Lions Club. Mr. Tiemann was the owner of Star Rentals.
Elton Lonnie Tiemann, 60, died April 22, 2003 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife Linda Tiemann of Brenham, sons and
daughters-in-law Elton Lonnie "Lon" Jr. and Ronna Tiemann of Houston and
Treyce and Sarah Tiemann of Grapevine, daughter Brooke Tiemann of Brenham,
a forthcoming grandchild in July, sister and brother-in-law Geneva and
Julian Martin of Brenham, sister-in-law Peggy Tiemann of Brenham, mother-in-law
Dorothy Morgan of Brenham, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Charles and
Mary Morgan of Brenham and Dot and Davis Shular of Colleyville, aunts and
uncles Elton and Elsie Pieper (his Godmother), Howard and Bernice Emshoff
and Ruby Naumann, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Charles Morgan and
brother Edward Tiemann.
Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem, the
American Cancer Society, Hospice or to your favorite charity.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham,
Texas.
