Funeral services for Mildred Toman, 79, of Corpus Christi, Texas (formerly
of Wallis) were held on Saturday, June 28, 2003 at 10 a.m. from Guardian
Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, Texas with Rev. Richard Johnston, S.C.J.
celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment was at
Krasna Cemetery in Wallis.
Serving as pallbearers were Doulas Hruzek, Richard Hruzek, David Bosco,
Ronald W. Janicek, Marvin Holub, and James McConnell.
Mildred was born to parents Peter and Terezie (Jetelina) Hruzek in Wallis,
Texas. She was raised in Wallis and attended Central Middle School. In
1945 Mildred was joined in marriage to Mr. Bill Toman in Wallis. Mildred
resided in Corpus Christi for the last 18 years.
She will be remembered for her skills in gardening, sewing, cooking, baking and care giving to others. She loved children. She made many friends after moving to Corpus Christi. She traveled in Mexico with her friends, spent time shopping and playing
Bingo. She also shared her sewing and baking with her friends.
Mildred Toman died June 25, 2003 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
She is survived by her daughters Cathie McFarren and husband Charlie of
Corpus Christi, Helen Janecek and husband Frank of New Braunfels, sons
Butch Toman and wife Patsy of Orchard, Kenny Toman and wife Michele of
Hempstead, Garry Toman and wife Linda of Wallis, sisters Tillie Bosco and husband
Vince, Dolores Janecek, Lucie Holub and husband Louis and Annie Gajevsky,
grandchildren Janice Janecek, Lynda Sabates, Jeffery Toman, Jennifer
Toman, Lisa Holland, Michael Hudman, Kevin Hudman, Jennifer Alvarado, Tracy
Alvarado, Josh Barnett, Twila Barnett, Chris Toman, Amanda Toman and Becky
Toman and nine great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Terezie Hruzek, husband Bill Toman, sister Rafella Hruzek and Viola Rezinecek, brothers Gabe, Robert, and Raymond Hruzek.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christus Spohn Hospice, 600 Elizabeth, Corpus Christi, Texas 78404.
