A graveside service for Pearl Wekenborg was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May
24, 2003 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston with Pastor Teresa Davis
officiating.
Pearl, affectionately known as "Gram" by her family and friends was born
September 28, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Gustav
and Elizabeth Geisler Nieth, she grew up and attended school in Chicago.
She was united in marriage with Victor A. Primak in 1935. He preceded her
in death and in 1957, she married Lawrence Wekenborg. During her working
years, Pearl was employed as a claims analyst in the insurance business.
In 1977, she moved to Katy where she made her home until moving to Bellville 4
years ago. A Lutheran by faith, she loved children and enjoyed baby-sitting. She
also enjoyed crocheting and knitting in her spare time.
Pearl M. Nieth Wekenborg passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2003 in a
Brenham nursing facility at the age of 87.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Charles Irion
of Bellville, grandchildren Kenneth Mauer, Jr. and his wife Mary Beth of
Katy, Michael V. Mauer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ronald M. Mauer and his wife Janet
of Parker, Colorado, Jennifer Lynn Mauer of Houston and her
step-grandchildren Steve Irion, James Irion and his wife Wendy and Dan
Irion. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Lourdes Mauer, Mila
Mauer, McKenna Mauer, Delaney Mauer, step-great grandson Mason Irion and
sister-in-law Jean Nieth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 5 brothers and
sisters.
In lieu of usual remembrances friends who wish may make memorial gifts to
the charity of their choice.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Schmidt Funeral
Home, Bellville, Texas
