James "Jimmy" P. Calhoun, 78, a retired welder from
Formosa Plastics with 37
years of service, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday March 24, 2004,
at his
residence in Baton Rouge, La., surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation was at Greenoaks Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday,
March 26 and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 27. Religious
services followed at
Greenoaks Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Thomas French, Jr.
conducting.
Interment took place at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Mr. Calhoun was a a native of Houston, and a resident of Baton
Rouge, La. He
was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Jefferson
Baptist
Church and was a 32 Mason with the Istrouma Lodge.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Vivian B. Calhoun, of
Baton
Rouge, La.; daughter Trudie C. Vick and husband Robert Vick, Jr. of
Houston;
grandchildren Bonnie V. Salyer and husband Rodney of Dallas, Robert
Vick III
and wife Corinne of Dallas; greatchildren Austin M. Salyer and Riley
James
Vick, both of Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James P. and Inez Rook
Calhoun.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Greenoaks Funeral
Home,
Baton Rouge, La.
