Funeral services for Eugene Elvis Clayton, 74, of Sealy were held
Thursday, April 15, at 2 p.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in
Sealy with the Rev. Milton Maly officiating. Interment was in the
San Felipe Cemetery in San Felipe. Serving as pallbearers were Billy
McRae, Kenny Schaffer, Jeff Cook,
Johnnie Ottmer, Mike Warren and Paul Matthews.
Eugene was born in Trinity County, Texas to parents William and Alma
Hill Clayton. He was raised in Trinity County and attended school in
Trinity County. On December 20, 1932 Eugene was joined in marriage
to Syble McRae with a ceremony held in Angelton. He served his
country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Eugene
worked as a truck driver. He was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Sealy.
Eugene Elvis Clayton died April 12, 2004 in Brenham.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Syble Clayton of Sealy; daughters,
Mary Weems and husband Olin of Sealy, Linda Stewart and husband Greg
of Sealy; sons, Randy Clayton of Houston, William Clayton and wife
Sally of Bellville;
sisters, Fannie Anderson of Lindale, Anah Presley of Trinity, Linda
McRae of Crockett; eleven grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Alma Clayton;
sisters, Joyce Marie Clayton, Jean Russell; and brother, Arthur
Clayton.
