Funeral services for Anita Coker, 82, of Bellville were held on Tuesday July 6, 2004, from St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Milroy Gregor officiating. Interment was in the Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville. Serving as pallbearers were Greg Luhn, Tommy Carley, Michael Mattern, and Carl Mattern, Jr. Anita was born to parents Emil and Annie (Litzman) Michaelis in Eagle Lake. She was raised in and attended school in the Columbus area. On March 22, 1941, she married L.T. Coker in Hallettsville. She worked as the Insurance secretary for Bellville General Hospital for many years. Anita was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville and a member of the quilt Guild. Anita Coker died on Friday July 2, 2004 in Bellville. She is survived by her daughter Sherry Luhn and husband Fred of Bellville; grandchildren, Greg Luhn, and Jill Luhn Carley and husband Tommy, and great-grandchild, Jackson Carley. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Annie Michaelis, husband L.T. Coker, two infant children, and sister, Eldora Mattern.
