Bellville Times
Mildred Brewer Conklin, age 97, entered into Glory on Wednesday,
Feb. 4, 2004 in her bed with her cat Louie at her daughter's home in
Bellville.
She was born Dec. 13, 1906 in the Methodist Parsonage in Plano to
Minnie Bell and Edgar Columbus Moore.
She married the love of her life, Alton Baker Brewer in 1931. After
his death in 1956, she married Glenn M. Conklin.
She lived most of her life in Houston and Dallas. She was a member
of St. Luke's Methodist Church. She lived independently in Bellaire
until March of 2003, when she came to live with her adopted
daughter, Ann Brewer Lanier.
She is survived by her cat Louie; her adopted daughter Ann Brewer
Lanier; grandchildren Christopher William Michels, Ann Michelle
Lanier, John Lanier and niece Francis Ann Putnam. Because of her
God-given wonderful life, she outlived her husbands, friends and
most of her doctors. Mildred willed her body to Baylor College of
Medicine, however a memorial service celebrating her blessed life
will be held Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. at Magpies, 21 S. Bell St.,
Bellville.
The family wishes to thank Bobbie Anderson, her caretaker, for the
outstanding and loving care she provided, and the Brazos Valley
Hospice for its loving support and excellent care.
