DOROTHY DUNN
Bellville Times
Funeral services for Dorothy Dunn, 84, of Bellville were held on Sunday,
August 15, 2004 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Bellville with the Rev.
Bob Gribble officiating. Interment was held in the Oak Knoll Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Monte Richardson, Wade Richardson, Justin
Richardson, Dyer Smith, Dylan Dunn, Charles Grube, and Fred Sterling.
Dorothy was born in Raccoon Ben in 1920 to parents Ethel Thompson and A.A.
Charpiot. She was raised in the Bellville area, graduating from Bellville
High School. After attending Baylor University, she graduated from the
University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi
sorority. 
On November 23, 1947, she married Mr. Jack Dunn at St. Mary's Episcopal
Church in Bellville.
Dorothy's emphasis on family and children was paramount. In the many facets
that made her life so wonderful. Reading, writing and the teaching of such
skills was very important to her. She always had a good suggestion for one's
next book, and many of Bellville's citizens can trace their own reading and
writing roots back to her. Not only was she an active school teacher for the
majority of her lifetime, but she was also instrumental in the founding of
Bellville's first Girl Scout troop. She also served many faithful years in
the St. Mary's Altar Guild, and as a Sunday School teacher. Dorothy was a
very fine lady in every sense of the word, and the trails her life have made
are true paths to follow.
Dorothy Dunn passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2004.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack Dunn; as well as daughters,
Susan Richardson and husband John of Bellville, Nancy Smith and husband
Charley of Bellville; son, John Dunn of Houston; brother, Robert Charpiot
and wife Shirley of Bellville; grandchildren, Monte Richardson and wife
Allison of Bellville, Wade Richardson, Justin Richardson, Dyer Smith, Dylan
Dunn; and great grandchild, Mary Elizabeth Richardson.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, A.A. Charpiot and Ethel Thompson
Charpiot.

Funeral services were under the direction of Knesek Family funeral Chapels,
Bellville.
