Anita Ella Emilia Goebel was born December 9, 1927 in Shelby to Rudolph and Paula Goebel. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby. She attended Shelby school. Anita was married to Dennis B. Rudloff on November 30, 1947. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. Anita enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, and sewing. She was active in St. Paul Lutheran Church, West End PTA, Shelby American Legion Auxiliary, Shelby Volunteer Fire Department, and Shelby Sons of Hermann. Anita Goebel passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Paula Goebel; brother, John R. Goebel; and brother-in-law, Delvin Wunderlich. She is survived by husband, Dennis Rudloff of Shelby; son, Ronald Rudloff and wife Betty of Cypress; daughter, Gloria Zapalac and husband Slick of Tyler; son, Danny Rudloff and wife Gail of Cypress; grandchildren, Rhonda and Danny Warren, Rebecca and John Mills, Robyn and Chris Clifford, Ryan Rudloff, Brian Zapalac, Kristin Zapalac, Lindsey Rudloff and Tyler Rudloff; 5 great grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Wunderlich of Shelby; one brother, Bennie Goebel and sister-in-law Hertha Goebel of Shelby; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rubin and Lois Rudloff of Park, and Percy and Norma Rudloff of Round Top; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation with family was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 27, in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby. Pastor Pam Werrell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Shelby Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gary Goebel, Rodney Goebel, Arno Krebs, Gayle Krebs, Ricky Rudloff, Troy Rudloff, Delton Wunderlich and Reuben Wunderlich. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her good friend and neighbor, Barbara Bartels. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby, the Shelby American Legion Auxiliary, or the charity of one's choice.
