Funeral services for Newton Hegemeyer, 66, of Sealy, were held Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, at 11 a.m. from the First Baptist Church in Sealy with the Rev. Harold Sellers officiating. Interment was at New Ulm Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Michael Gross, Israel Quiroz, David Baker, Seven Kutra, Emmett Lehmann and Nathan Hegemeyer. Newton was born in New Ulm to parents Edward and Viola Rinn Hegemeyer and was raised and attended school there. On April 9, 1961, Mr. Newton Hegemeyer and the former Miss Elizabeth Strokos were joined in marriage at St. John's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Newton's greatest enjoyment was through his grandchildren. He loved the attention they all brought to him. Newton loved to watch the Houston Astros. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a highway construction foreman for the majority of his career. Newton Hegemeyer died Sunday, Sept. 26 2004 in Sealy. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Preuss of Brenham, Amy Quiroz and husband Israel of Arlington; sons, Edward Hegemeyer of Houston, Jason Hegemeyer and Amanda Frank of Sealy; sisters, Lucille Gross and husband Milford of Bellville, Delores Kutra and husband Willie of Sealy; brothers, Gilbert Hegemeyer, and wife Emily of Katy, William Hegemeyer and wife Bonnie of Sealy and Edward Hegemeyer, Jr. and wife Carol of New Ulm; grandchildren, Stephanie, Stacey and Robert Preuss and Haley Hegemeyer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Viola Hegemeyer; and daughters, Mary Ann and Patricia Hegemeyer. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to First Baptist Church, P.O.
