Funeral services for Mervin L. Holland, 80, of Sealy were held Tuesday, August 31, 2004, at 3 p.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Sealy with the Rev. Frank Lucas officiating. Interment was at Sealy Cemetery in Sealy. Born in Canada, Mervin Lloyd Holland was the son of Lloyd Holland and Iva Archer Holland. He was raised in the Rio Grande Valley and attended Ed Cough High School in the Valley. Mervin served his country in the U.S. Army, during World War II. He was the owner and operator of Holland Trucking in Sealy, started in 1971. Mervin L. Holland died Saturday, August 28, 2004 in Houston. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Jones and her husband David of Waller; the mother of Linda, Jeannie Holland of Sealy; sister, Jean McNutt of Maybank; grandson, Brandon Ray Jones; and special friends, Dolly Sullivan of Sealy and Nicolas Galvan of Katy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Iva Holland. Funeral services were under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels, Sealy. Posted by Joy Neely
