Funeral services for Henry C. Jurecek, 77, of Sealy were held Thursday, September 16, 2004, at 11 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Octavio Muguerza celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. Interment was at Immaculate conception Cemetery in Sealy. Rosary was recited Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 7 p.m. from Knesek Bros. Hwy. 36 Chapel in Sealy. Serving as pallbearers were Charles Wendt, Frank Koy, Terry Koy, Steven Kubena, Carl Palmer and Dan Jalaway. Born Sealy, Henry was the son of Joseph Jurecek and Josephine Bures Jurecek. He was raised in the Mixville Community and attended Mixville Public School. Henry served his country in the United States Army from January 1946 to December 1948. On June 20, 1949, Henry and the former Miss Helen Hajdik were married with ceremony held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy. Henry served the city of Sealy as Council for 13 years, was on the Immaculate Conception Church Council, and a member of the Sealy K.J.T. He was a heavy equipment operator for Austin County, Precinct three, for 30 years, and worked for Koy Concrete for 20 years. Henry Clement Jurecek died in a Houston hospital, Monday, September 13, 2004. He is survived by his wife Helen Jurecek of Sealy; daughters, Susie Shupak of Sealy, Kathy Baker and husband Curtis of Houston, Cindy Cobb and husband Steve of Houston; sister, Bernadette Svajda and husband Virgil of El Campo; grandchildren, Melissa Shupak, Luke Shupak, Christopher Baker, Sarah Baker, and Hillary Cobb; and great grandchild, Kyndall Shupak. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Josephine Jurecek. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 337, Sealy, Texas 77474.
