Funeral services for William Joseph "Willie" Jurek, 69, of Rosenberg were held on Friday, Dec. 24, 2004 at 10 a.m. from Knesek and Sons Funeral Home in Wallis, with the Rev. Johnston, S.C.J. officiating. Interment was at the Krasna Cemetery near Wallis. Pallbearers serving were Justin Jurek, Maurilio Sanchez, Ernest Jurek, Terry Jurek, James Byrd and Chris Byrd. Born in Wallis, Willie was the son of Joseph and Annie Jochec Jurek, Jr. He was raised in Wallis and attended Guardian Angel Catholic School. Willie lived all his adult life in the Rosenberg area. William Joseph "Willie" Jurek married Hazel Brinkmeyer on Sept. 30, 1957 with ceremony held in Wallis. Willie went to work at the WKM Foundry in Richmond in 1964 as a mechanic working on oil field equipment and it was from there that he retired. In addition to that he was a rural carrier for the Herald Coaster, first in the Pleak, Needville, Damon, Guy, Fairchild area and later in the Fulshear, Simonton, Pecan Grove area. For many years he repaired lawn mowers at his home. He was a K.J.T. member in Wallis, and a member of Holy rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. William Jospeh "Willie" Jurek died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 at the Forum in Rosenberg. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Hazel Jurek of Rosenberg; sons, Mike Jurek of Needville, Ken Jurek and his wife Elsa of Missouri City, Eddie Jurek and his wife Tammy of League City, Tommy Jurek and his wife Laura of Needville; sisters, Mary Dugging of Nevada, Frances Mikulencak and husband Charlie of Richmond; brothers, Frank and his wife, Elizabeth of East Bernard, Johnnie and his wife Betty of Wallis; thirteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Joe Jurek, Jr. and Annie Jochec Jurek, and infant daughter, Elizabeth Ann Jurek. Special thanks to the people at Vitas Hospice. In lieu of flowers or memorials, the family requests for donations to be made to the Krasna Cemetery Association, 1741 FM 1952, East Bernard, 77435 in Willie's Memory.
