Viola Schulz Kramer, 86 of Welcome, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 in Bluebonnet Hills Care Center. Viola was born January 5, 1918 in Welcome to Willie and Frances Posival Schulz and attended Welcome School. On March 31, 1918 Viola was baptized and on March 20, 1932 she was confirmed. She was a member of Welcome Lutheran Church and it was here that she was married to Erwin F. Kramer on November 11, 1937 by the Rev. I M. Mansur. Viola Kramer was a homemaker and also helped on the farm alongside her husband. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erwin on Nov. 10, 1974; sister, Anita Thielemann; brother, Adolph Schulz; and niece Betty Joyce Holder. Viola is survived by sisters-in-law, Beatrice "Bea" Helweg of Shelby, Leona Surovik of Rosenberg, Bernice Gajeske of Brenham and Lillian Schulz of Welcome; nephews and nieces, David Schulz and Bonnie of New Ulm, Marvin Lee Thielemann and Gerry of Houston, Henry Holder of San Antonio, John and Betty Pomykal of San Antonio, Glenn and Glynice Pomykal of Livermore, California. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Charles and Carol Surovik of Rosenberg, Delores and Billy Watson of Tenaha, Rose Mary and Steve Ellis of Hico, Robert Gajeske of Willis, Larry Gajeske of Brenham, Michael and Shirley Gajeske of Brenham, Shirley and Sam Atwood of Shiner, Kathryn and Roy Meredith of Houston, Sam and Pam Helweg of Houston and James and Eunice Schulz of Welcome; and great nieces and great nephews. Visitation was at Brenham Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 1004 in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Welcome. Pastor Jason Korthauer officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were James Schulz, John Pomykal, Jr. Elo David "Sam" Helweg, Sam Atwood, Mitchell Holder and Zane Schulz. Honorary pallbearers are David Schulz, Marvin Lee Thielemann and Raymond Posival. Memorials may be given to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Welcome. Funeral services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, Brenham.
