LOUIS FRANK NOVISKIE
Bellville Times Funeral services for Louis Frank Noviskie, 84, of Cat Spring were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Henry Beseda officiating. Interment was in the National Cemetery in Nelsonville. Pallbearers for the service were Casey Cook, Kyle Noviskie, George Breehl, Douglas Dean, Allen Crosby, Leonard Mikeska Sr., Gary Noviskie and Bruce Noviskie. Louis Frank Noviskie was born to parents Louis and Frances Janczak Noviskie in Bellville. He attended Piney School and was raised in Bellville. On January 31, 1942, he married the former Miss Mattie Shupak in Houston. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army from June 4, 1942 until June 17, 1945. During this time, he took part in the great African invasion and was wounded near St. Lo, France during the Normandy invasion. He received the ETO ribbon with four campaign stars, two for Africa's, one each for Sicily and France, the good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart. After the war, he retuned to Houston where he worked for 29 years for Mosher Steel and retired from Harris county with 15 years of service. He was a member of the Houston Brethren Church, lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #8790 in Houston, and the S.P.J.S.T. in Houston. Mr. Noviskie died October 20, 2004 in La Grange. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mattie Noviskie of Cat Spring; children, Patty Cook and husband, C.L. of Deer Park, Terry Noviskie and wife Jewel of Houston, Randy Noviskie and wife Shirley Ann of Fayetteville and Carol Noviskie of Houston. Also, grandchildren, Michelle Breehl and husband George, Kelley Cook, Brandy Harris and husband Mark, Kelly Powell and husband Corey, Casey Cook, Kyle Noviskie and Clayton Noviskie; great-grandchildren, Madison Breehl, Paige and Kelsey Harris; brother, Stanley "Bert" Noviskie of Cat Spring; sisters, Clara Einkauf and Marie Ognoskie, both of Houston. He was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Frances Noviskie; brothers, Charlie, Bryan, and Johnnie Noviskie; sisters, Cecilia Koteras and Joanna Cieslwicz. Memorial contributions can be made to the Nelsonville Brethren Church, 332 Nelsonville Church Rd., Bellville, TX 77418 or charity of choice.
