Funeral services for Myrtle Marie Noviskie, 82, of Cat Spring, were held Thursday, October 21, 2004 at 10 a.m. from St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring with the Rev. Kevin Haug officiating. Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville. Serving as pallbearers were Larry Uhlig, Alan Uhlig, Alan Crosby, Robert Uhlig, Lawrence Petrosky and Marion Kavonika. Born in Cat Spring, Myrtle Marie was the daughter of Rudolph Theuman and Nathalie Berger Theuman. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, raised in Cat Spring, and graduated from Bellville High School. On January 19, 1942, the former Miss Myrtle Theuman married Mr. Stanley "Bert" W. Noviskie with ceremony held at St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring. They moved to Houston where Mrs. Noviskie worked for Clarke and Courts Company until 1982, when they moved back to Cat Spring. Myrtle was a life member of V.F.W. Post #6522 Auxiliary in Bellville. In 1997, Myrtle and Bert joined St. John Lutheran Church where she was actively involved in WELCA, the Altar Guild, quilting and the prayer chain. She enjoyed spending time with the ladies of the church, making quilts. Myrtle also like to work cross stitch and embroidery. She and Bert enjoyed spending time dancing which they did with family and friends to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. She was known for her kindness and always being there to help out as needed. Myrtle Marie Noviskie died Tuesday, October 19, 2004 in Columbus. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Stanley Noviskie; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bobby Sronce of Bernardo; sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Cindy Noviskie of Katy; Gary and Denise Noviskie of Houston; 6 grandchildren, Jamie Natalie, Jason, Ryan, Carrie, Courtney; and her two great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Nathalie Theuman; brothers, Elmore and Allen Theuman; and her sisters Gladys and Bernetta Uhlig.
