Funeral services for Lula Mae "Mama"
Parks, 82, of Somerville, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10,
2004 from Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville with the Rev.
Terry Moon officiating. Interment followed in the
United Church of Christ Cemetery in Lyons. Visitation was from 1
p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the
service on Saturday in the funeral Home.
Lula Mae Parks died Thursday, April 8, 2004 in St. Joseph Regional
Health Care Center. She was born October 17, 1921 in Leander and was
a retired short order cook, having owned her own business. She
attended the United Church of Christ in Lyons and enjoyed fishing
and playing bingo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sons,
Willie and Larry Parks; a grand daughter, Linda Parks; and one
brother.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Pat Gibson
of Somerville and Lana and Henry Mazoch of Cat spring; two
sons, Jack Parks, Jr. of Caldwell and Russell Parks of Somerville;
two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ula Mae (Mutt) Carroll of
Junction and Leta and Will Anderwauld of Bandera; thirteen
grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Family members have requested that memorials be made to the United
Church of Christ of Lyons.
Arrangements are under the direction of Strickland Funeral Home,
Somerville
