Funeral services for Carolyn E. Pavlicek, 67, of Sealy were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy with the. Rev. Octavio Muguerza and the Rev. Leon Strider officiating the funeral mass and rite of committal. The Catholic Daughters rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Knesek Bros. Hwy 36 Chapel in Sealy with the parish vigil wake service at 7 p.m. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Sealy. Pallbearers for the service were Michael Mersmann, Larry Mersmann, Kevin Mersmann, Andy Mersmann, Clark Pavlicek and Kirk Pavlicek. The former Miss Carolyn Elaine Kabell was born in Sealy to parents Richard and Alice Wittenburg Kabell. She was raised in Sealy and graduated from Sealy High School. On November 25, 1956, she married George Pavlicek in Frydek and spent over 30 years working for Citizens State Bank in Sealy as a teller. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Sealy Catholic Daughters, the Sealy Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and the Sealy American Legion Auxiliary. Carolyn loved baking cookies, gardening, and staying at the family camp house. She died Saturday, July 10, 2004 in Sealy. Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Kabell Mersmann of Sealy, sisters-in-law and spouses, Bernice Pavlicek of Houston, Lillian Pavlicek Woods and Bob of Phoenix, Arizona, Wilma Pavlicek Cook and Mel of Houston, brothers-in-law and spouse, Charlie Pavlicek of Houston and Johnnie Pavlicek and Edith of Houston, nieces, Carolyn Pavlicek Smith, Darlene Pavlicek Bailey, Kathleen Cook, Trena Cook, and Barbara Newberry, nephews, Michael Mersmann, Larry Mersmann, Kevin Mersmann, Andy Mersmann, Clark Pavlicek, Kirk Pavlicek, Robert Woods, Jr. and Marty Cook. She was precede in death by her parents, Richard and Alice Kabell, husband, George Pavlicek, infant son, Mark Allen Pavlicek, sisters-in-law, Audrey Pavlicek, Clara Newberry, brothers-in-law, Clarence Mersmann and Frankie Pavlicek, nephews, Johnnie and Gary Pavlicek. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 501, Bellville, TX 77418. Funeral services were held under the direction of the Knesek Family Funeral Chapel of Sealy.
