Silvie Petrusek, age 89 years,
of La Grange, formerly of the New Ulm area passed away Friday.
Born in the New Ulm area on Oct. 3, 1914, she was a daughter of
Frank and Lumilla (Ripple) Langer. She married Alois Petrusek on
April 4, 1933 in New Ulm, a marriage that lasted some 45 years until
his death in 1978. She was a member of Saint Paul Evangelical
Lutheran Church, the Afternon Circle, Quilters of Lutheran World
Relief. She taught Sunday School for many years at her church and
often volunteered at Second Chance Emporium. In years past she was
active in Trinity Hill Extension Homemakers Club.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a clerk
at a fabric store for some time.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Saint
Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastors Robert and Matthew
Groenke officiating. Burial will follow in La Grange City Cemetery.
A prayer service will be held at the Koenig & Strickland Chapel
Saturday at 8:15 p.m.
Pallbearers in service are Robert Froebel,
Dennis Mahlmann, Reuben Mahlmann, Calvin Petrusek, Louis Petrusek,
Reuben Petrusek, Jr.
Silvie Petrusek is survived by: a daughter and
son-in-law, Doris and Glenn Roy Guettler of Houston; two
grandchildren, Susan Miller and husband Eric of Houston, and Steven
Guettler and wife Jill, also of Houston; five great-grandchildren,
Kristah and Sarah Miller, and Matthew, Ian and Jonathan Guettler.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alois Petrusek in 1978;
daughter
Ruby; and sisters Lillie Reeder and Tillie Mahlmann.
Friends may call at the Koenig and Strickland Chapel after 1 p.m.
