Joe V. Plasek, age 89 years, 7 months, 6 days, of Bleiblerville, passed away Monday, April 12, 2004 in the Bellville Hospital. He was born September 6, 1914 in Bleiblerville to Joe and Frances Pilcik Plasek. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry as well as the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Bleiblerville Volunteer Fire Department. Joe Plasek is survived by his brother Eddie Broz and wife Marie of Bleiblerville; sister Tillie Schmidt and husband Erwin also of Bleiblerville; sister-in-law Georgia Broz of Galveston; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Plasek; by his mother and step-father, Frances and John Broz; by a brother John Broz, Jr.; and by a niece Linda Lee Labardini. Friends called at the Zaskoda Chapel in Industry from 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. The family received visitors at the funeral home chapel from 7 - 9 p.m. Wednesday evening. A Rosary was recited for Mr. Plasek from the Zaskoda Chapel in Industry Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 15, from the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry with Father Timothy Bucek officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Eddie Schmidt, Adolph Wehmeyer, Eddie Pilcik, Allan Draehn, David Draehn, Chance Bolten, John F. Broz III, and Jeffery Boyle. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Rust, Jason Draehn, Matthew Reue and all members of the Bleiblerville Volunteer Fire Department.
