Funeral services for Raymond A. Priesmeyer, 91, of Bellville were held on Sunday, October 24, 2004 from St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville with the Rev. Jennie Jones officiating. Interment was at Salem Lutheran Cemetery near Brenham. Serving as pallbearers were Kevin Priesmeyer, David Butler, Don Hanks, Steven Rejcek, Michael Clamon and Jeff Prokop. Born in Wesley, Raymond was the son of Henry and Ella Struckmeyer Priesmeyer. He was raised and attended school in Wesley. Raymond was baptized on December 8, 1913 at home and was confirmed on March 24, 1929 in Salem. On December 22, 1945, Raymond was joined in marriage to the former Miss Viola Sommerfeld with a ceremony held at Salem Lutheran Church. Raymond was one of the owners of Priesmeyer Bros. along with his brothers, H.F. and Erwin. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Millheim Hall and Kenny Agriculture Society. Raymond A. Priesmeyer died October 21, 2004 in Bellville. His survivors include his daughters, Geneva Butler of Livingston and Gale Priesmeyer of Bellville; sons, Raymond H. Priesmeyer and wife Betty of Cat Spring and Kenneth Priesmeyer of Bellville. Also, grandchildren, Sheryl and Don Hanks, David Butler, Amy and Steve Rejcek, Lisa and Michael Clamon, Kevin and Robin Priesmeyer, Beth and Jeff Prokop; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, JoAnna, Tyler and Stephen Hanks, Bryan Butler, Derek and Brett Rejcek, Forest Clamon and wife Destiny, Kristin Clamon, Taylor and Morgan Priesmeyer and Dillon Prokop; Additionally, sisters-in-law, Laverna Priesmeyer, Katherine Priesmeyer, Weda Pruess, Erline Sommerfeld; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bertha and John Kruse; brother-in-law, Ervin Sommerfeld, special friends and caregiver, Braeg Steward, Claudale Phillips and Aileen Kukendall; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ella Priesmeyer; wife, Viola Preismeyer, son-in-law, Carroll Butler; brothers, H.F. and Erwin Priesmeyer; sister, Iona Wilhelmsen Surovik; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and first wife, Olga Thielemann Priesmeyer.
