Jennie Richter, 86, of Bellville passed away Saturday, September 11, 2004 in Trinity Medical Center, Brenham. Jennie was born January 8, 1918 in Rosenberg, Fredrick William "Will" and Ina Pearl Hanly Hartlage, Sr. She attended Cottonwood School in Rosenberg. On December 17, 1939 she married Edmund William Richter in First Baptist Church of Rosenberg. Jennie was a homemaker and lovingly devoted to her family and her church. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brenham and the Joy Class there. Her survivors include, husband, Ed Richter of Bellville; sons, Edmund W. Richter, Jr. and wife Gloria of Houston, Charles Ervin Richter and wife Libby of Laurel, Mississippi; daughter, Doris Hinton and husband Joe of Houston; grandchildren, Chip and Carrie Richter, Blake and Rachel Richter, Lindsey Hinton; great grandchildren, Sydney and Zane Richter; sisters, Eva Marie Sims of Rosenberg, Vera Carhart of Houston; brother, William Hartlage, Jr. and wife Charlotte of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, one brother, and one sister. Visitation with family will be this evening 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Ponder officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Rosenberg. Pallbearers were Fred Landolt, Leon Barber, Dave Thompson, T.K. Condron, Blake Richter, Chip Richter, James Carstarphen, Grant Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be the Scripture Searchers Class of First Baptist Church.
