Funeral services for Charles W. Schroeder, 91, of Sealy were held Friday,
June 18, 2004, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Frydek with the
Rev. Bernard Snock celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal.
Interment was at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Sealy. Pallbearers
serving were Chuck Gruener, Scott Newsome, Steven Newsome, C.J. Hejl, Cody
Sweat, and Tyler Sweat. Honorary pallbearers were Mason Gruener, Travis Koy,
Johnny Sweat and Ken Hejl.
Born in Sealy, Charles was the son of Charles H. and Melanie Balke
Schroeder. He was raised in Sealy and attended Peters Hacienda Public
Schools. Charles W. Schroeder married the former Miss Mary Sliva, January 7,
1939 with ceremony held in Wallis. Mr. Schroeder was a dairy famer and
rancher. He was a former school trustee for Peters Hacienda Schools, a
member of the Austin County Gun Club and a member of Sons of Herman. Charles
enjoyed dancing with his wife, and loved his family and kids. He also loved
fishing at Mill Creek. He had a good sense of humor and was a great
storyteller.
Mr. Charles W. Schroeder died June 15, 2004.
His survivors are his wife Mary Sliva Schroeder of Sealy; daughters,
Florence Gruener and husband David of Freeport, Kathy Newsome and husband
J.P. of Sealy; grandchildren, Gayle and Travis Koy, Scott Newsome and wife
Vicki, Steven Newsome and wife Audra, Chuck Gruener and wife Christene,
Vicki Sweat and husband, Johnny Ray; great grandchildren, C.J., Nikki and
Britni Hejl, Andrea Newsome, Karleigh and Ragan Newsome, Cody and Tyler
Sweat and Emily and Mason Gruener.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Melanie Schroeder;
son Charles Louis Schroeder; sisters, Nola Amsler, Lillie Pless, Mary
Hildebrand; and brothers, Fritz, Edmond, and Raymond Schroeder.

Sealy.
