Larry Wayne Stanley was born August 15, 1962 in Houston, to parents James and Adell McDonald Stanley. He grew up and attended school in Cy-Fair, graduating form Cy-Fair High School. After high school, he attended Cisco Junior College, then the Houston Fire Academy graduating in 1984. A fire fighter for over 20 years, he was employed by the Houston Fire Department and volunteered for the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department. A past member of the Cypress United Methodist Church, Larry enjoyed horses and riding, but his daughter, Chelsea Marie, was the love of his life. He passed away suddenly August 5, 2004 in Harris County at the age of 41. He is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Marie Stanley of Waller; parents, Wayne and Adell Stanley of Huntsville; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheryl and David Baker of Cypress, and Kim and Chris Grimes of Bellville. Larry is also survived by his nephews, Justin Grimes, Kyle Grimes, Wade Baker and wife Courtney, and Travis Baker; great nephew, Austin Baker, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2004 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville with Chaplain Gary Blackman officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Knoll Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chad Corliss, Wade Baker, Kevin Outlaw, John Hare, Mark Evans and David Boshears. Honorary Pallbearers were Justin Grimes, Kyle Grimes, Travis Baker, Ricky Corliss, Jerry Hamlin and Randy Deford. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Chelsea Marie Stanley Benefit Fund, c/o Wayne and Adell Stanley, 21 Lakeside West, Huntsville, TX 77320.
