Funeral services for Marvin R. Swearingen, 85, of Sealy were held Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville with the Rev. Wayne Middleton officiating. Interment was in Millheim Cemetery in the Millheim Community. Serving as pallbearers were Chad Swearingen, Kevin Swearingen, Brian Stewart, John Stewart, Nathan Barry, Pat Sechelski, and Chris Jolly. Honorary pallbearers were Brandi Stewart and Christine Stewart Innes. Born in Cat Spring, Marvin was the son of Richard C. and Ella Severin Swearingen. He was raised in Millheim and attended school in Millheim. Marvin was a farmer and rancher for most of his life and also did carpenter work. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Marvin was a member of Bellville United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 442 in Sealy, VFW Post 6522 in Bellville, Sons of Herman and a past member of the Texas Farm Bureau. Marvin had a special love for his nieces and nephews and their children. He was more like a father, grandfather and great grandfather to them. Marvin R. Swearingen died April 25, 2004 in Sealy, Texas. He is survived by his sister, Myrtle Stewart of Sealy; brother, Jake Swearingen and wife Sydell of Cat Spring; nephews, Tommy Stewart and wife Debbie of Millheim, Mike Stewart and wife Jackie of Millheim; nieces, Frances Sechelski and husband Pat of Millheim, Gwen Reichardt of Sealy; sisters-in-law, Gladys and Nettie Swearingen. Preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ella Swearingen; brothers, Wesley, Aaron, and Jasper Swearingen; nephew, Calvin Swearingen; and niece, Delores Swearingen.
