Funeral services For Roger van den Dries, 87, Of Wallis Were Held Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at 10 a.m. from Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis with the Rev. Richard Johnston, S.C.J. celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. Grave side service was held at 2 p.m. from Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Rosenberg. Pallbearers serving were fellow members of the Knights of Columbus. Born in Belgium, Roger was the son of Roger J. and Ludwina Ladan van den Dries. He attended school in Belgium and the Netherlands. Roger married Margaret Parma Rohan in 1972. Mr. van den Dries worked for and retired from the former Houston Light & Power Company and was also a substitute teacher for Wallis, Sealy, East Bernard, Rice Consolidated and Lamar Consolidated. Roger was a member of Good Sam Club, Sealy local A.A.R.P. and a Boy Scout Master and was a Wallis Third and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, and a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church. Roger van den Dries died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004 in Brookshire. He is survived by his wife Margaret van den Dries of Wallis; daughters, Connie van den Dries of Saco, Maine, Bennie Gueck of Mexico, and Beatrice Griffey of San Diego, Calif.; son, Gerald van den Dries and his wife, Denise, of San Antonio; stepson, Franklin Rohan and his wife, Diane, of Wallis; stepson, Dennis Rohan of Huntsville; grandchildren, Danielle Gueck, Sierra and Alex van den Dries; step-grandchildren, Ronny Rohan and his wife, Lori, Tammy Horelica, Frank Rohan, Amy Rohan; and step-grandchildren, Brandon and Brody Rohan, and Shane and Samantha Horelica.
