Earl Andrew "Andy" Barbisch passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2005 in Bellville. Andy was born in Austin to Joseph William and Alice Newman Barbisch. He attended Lamar High School in Houston and Stephen F. Austin State University. He left behind his wife of 39 years, Sherry Ann Copeland Barbisch, three sons and daughters-in-law and eight grandchildren, who knew him as "Poppy": Bart and Angela and children Amanda and Zachary of Cypress; Brett and Tammy and children Dillon, Avery, Braden and Casey of Cypress; Brad and Lisa and children, Lucy, and Linus of Brenham; older brother Bill Barbisch of Hawaii with children Michael of Austin and Austin of Los Angeles; sister and brother-in-law, Julie Barbisch Puckett and Robert of Houston with children Fleming and wife Wendy of Toronto, Canada; and Tanner of Houston; parents-in-law, Dreabon and Mae Copeland; brother and sisters-in-law, Jeff Copeland, Becky Grider, Rhonda Gracely, and Pam McGill and their families all of Houston. Andy retired from the building supply industry in 1991. Since his retirement, Andy has been involved in the antique and restaurant business, as well as enjoying ranching in Bellville. Andy was also president of the Bellville Historical Society, member of the local Lions Club, and performed numerous civic volunteer jobs. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, and friend. He will be sorely missed by all. Visitation was Monday, Feb. 7, from 5-8 p.m. at the Knesek Family Funeral Chapels, on FM 529, Bellville. Funeral was Tuesday, Feb. 8 at the First Baptist Church Brenham, 304 Market St., in Brenham at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Andy's name.
