Funeral services for Blanche Hoff Benson, 82, of Sealy were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Sealy with the Rev. David Thomas and the Rev. John Tyler officiating. She died Monday, June 5, 2006, in Katy. Interment was in the Sealy Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were Steven Corte, Spence Corte, Waddell Brandes, Bruce Brandes, James Schroeder and Mike Burnham. The former Blanche Hoff was born to parents Charles and Louise Hacker Hoff in Sealy, Texas. She was raised in Sealy , attended the Hacienda Public School and graduated from Sealy High School in 1941. Blanche was united in marriage with James Corte on August 23, 1941 in Houston. She was a dental assistant in Houston for 32 years working for one dentist for 30 years. She joined the Houston District Dental Society and served as vice-president two years and as secretary for two years. For a number of years, Ms. Benson attended dental conventions as a delegate or alternate and received a Life Membership award of 25 years continous membership and service from the American Dental Assistants Association in 1975. In 1979, she married Bill Benson in Houston. After retirement, she and Bill moved to Sealy to care for her parents. Blanche was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sealy. She died Monday, June 5, 2006 in Katy. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Janet Corte of Katy, grandchildren, Steven Corte and wife Kristi, Spencer Corte, and twin girls, Meredith and Mackenzie Corte, and great-granddaughter, Hailey Corte. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise Hoff and husband Bill Benson. Funeral services were held under the direction of the Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel of Sealy.
