Funeral services for Lee Roy ³Cash² Buchtien, 92, of Bellville, were held Thursday, July 6, 2006, at 4:00 p.m. from Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel n Bellville with Rev. Jennie Jones officiating. Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville. Pallbearers serving were Newton Boriack, Michael Buchtien, Darcy Dehnel, Blayne Greer, Clinton Mantey and C.W. Waak, Jr. Born in Wallis, Lee Roy was the son of Henry and Marie (Reichardt) Buchtien. He moved to Bellvile at a young age with his parents. Lee Roy graduated from Bellville High School and was workng in Bellville atthe outbreak of WWII. In 1942 he was called into the sevice. Lee Roy served until 1946 in the U.S. Army, 746th Railway Operating Battalion, in the American and European Theatres. On December 19, 1948 Lee Roy Buchtien and the former Miss Marie Kaliszewski were married with ceremony held in Bellville. He was employed by Boriack Motors as a bookkeeper and office manager for 32 years, spending 8 years in the Parts Department, prior to his retirement. For 17 consecutive years, Mr. Buchtien received the Ford Motor Company Business Management Award. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville and a lifetime member of the Bellville VFW Post #6522. Lee Roy Buchtien died Sunday, July 2, 2006, in Bellville, Texas. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roger Lee and Jo Ann Buchtien of Bellville, grandson Eric Buchtien of Bellville, granddaughter Jennifer Buchtien of Bellville, nephews William Ray and Ronnie Clark, niece Patricia Benton and numberous cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Marie Buchtien, step-mother Emma Schneider, wife Marie Buchtien, brother Ernest W. Buchtien and sisters Gladys Pinette and Ora Nell Clark.
