Alice Tina Schramm Burnside, 92, of Fayetteville was born May 29, 1913 in Industry and passed away April 14, 2006 in monument Hill Nursing Center in La Grange. She was the daughter of Herman and Amanda Teufel Schramm. On June 17, 1934, she was married to Paul L. Burnside in Industry. Her husband preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Burnside was a member of St. John's Catholic Church; the Altar Society; Council of Catholic Women and church choir until 1993. She was a Blinn College graduate and taught at the Santa Anna School in Nelsonville. Survivors include: daughter Amanda Manchee of Houston; sons Paul Burnside and wife Lillie Mae of La Grange, Robert Burnside of Fayetteville and Wayne Burnside and wife Libby of Dallas; grandchildren Robert Bruce Burnside of Los Angeles, Mike Burnside, Catherine Burnside and Laura Manchee, all of Houston and Brooke Burnside and Paige Franks and her husband Todd, all of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six sisters and two brothers. Funeral service was held Monday, April 17, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Fayetteville with Monsignor Ben Mazurkiewicz officiating. Burial followed in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Industry. Rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2006 at St. John's Church. Visitation was held at Fayette Memorial Chapel in La Grange from 4 p.m. Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday when she was taken to St. John's to lie in state. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Catholic Church or to the Gin Building Restoration Fund in Industry. Posted by Joy Neely
