Funeral Services for Adell Carraway, 80, of Bellville, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2006 from the Church of Christ in Bellville with Pastor Charles Wilson officiating. Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville. Serving as pallbearers for the service were Mark Pfeffer, David Pfeffer, Jorge Loredo, Jack Clark, David Johnson and Hugh Tubbs. Honorary pallbearers were the Elders and Deacons of the Church of Christ and Gene Pfeffer, Louis Vacek, Mike Turner, Don Tarver and C.F. Kollmann. Born in Kenney, Adell Maggie Wernli was the daughter of Samuel Wernli and Emma Wehrman Wernli. She was raised in Kenney and attended the Kenney public school. On Aug. 25, 1956, Adell and Mr. Fred Carraway were married with ceremony taking place at Concordia Hall in Bellville. Adell was a member of the Church of Christ in Bellville where she was baptized in 1956. She loved growing flowers and receiving flowers, and was very talented at needlework, spending many hours working cross-stitch and embroidery. Adell loved going to church and visiting with people. She loved any kitty cat in the world, whether it be live/a toy/a picture or a T-shirt. She enjoyed shopping trips, being taken out to eat, her cookies and fruit, and most of all she loved spending time with her family. She made a lot of new friends when she moved to Briarwood Manor and we will all miss her a lot. Adell Maggie Wernli Carraway passed away peacefully Thursday, May 25, 2006 in Bellville. Survived by her sister Lena Wernli of Rosenberg; nephew Gene Pfeffer and wife Fay of Bellville; nieces Elda Vacek and husband Louis of Bellville, Jennell Tarver and husband Donald of Brenham, Betty Jane Clark and husband Jack of Hallettsville; 7 great nephews; 8 great nieces, among them, two special great nieces Jackie Loredo and Carol Turner; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Emma Wernli, husband Fred Carraway, sisters Emmie Pfeffer and Tillie Dahse, half-sister Mary Patterson, two nephews Delmus Pfeffer and Nelson Dahse, and her beloved pet cats Butch, Shirley, Whitey, Spotty, Becky and Mama Kitty.
