Wanda Irene Cook Christopher was born July 4, 1937 in Morrill, Kansas. The daughter of Virgil and Louise Parcells Cook, she grew up and attended schools in Fairview and Topeka, Kansas. On June 7, 1957, Wanda married Lloyd Harmon Christopher in Oklahoma. Because Lloyd was in the U.S. Air Force, they lived in numerous places including Wichita, Kansas, Lincoln, Nebraska, Kinross, Michigan, Easley, South Carolina, and Omaha, Nebraska. They then made their home in Houston, Texas where Wanda was employed at ABB Randall, a printing and reproduction company. Lloyd preceded her in death on December 21, 1981. After Wanda's retirement in 2004, she moved to Sealy, Texas where she has been a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sealy. A devoted grandmother, Wanda treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. Her favorite singer was Conway Twitty, and she enjoyed collecting bells, reading and playing Farkle with her friends from church on Sunday afternoons. She passed away suddenly Sunday, August 27, 2006 at her home in Sealy at the age of 69. She is survived by her daughters: Stacy Little and her husband, Lamar, of Tomball, Melanie Christopher and her husband, James Sheppeard, also of Tomball, and Darcy Parrent of Houston; son Russell Lloyd Christopher and his wife, Jeanette, of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren: William Christopher, Mark Christopher, Keith Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Matthew Parrent, Britnee Parrent, Cheyenne Parrent, Samuel Little, Abigail Little, Seth Little, Faith Little, Jessica Rotella, Halee Chance and Megan Sheppeard; and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving her are her sisters Norma Massey of Sealy, Virginia Batson and hr husband, Bill, of Pinckneyville, Illinois, Colleen Rennison of Rockwood, Illinois, and Glenda Allen of Overbrook, Kansas; brother: Gene Cook of Rawlin, Wyoming, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service was Thursday, August 31, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Sealy with Reverend John Tyler officiating. Graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 31, 2006 at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas.
