Funeral services for Edith "Edna" Polasek Dibala, 86, of Wallis, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2006 from Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis with the Rev. Ray Schmidt celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. She died May 17, 2006 in Wharton. Interment was at the Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis. Pallbearers serving were Larry Polasek and her five grandsons, Charles Dibala, William Dibala, Brian Dibala, erica Dibala and Andrew Dibala. Born in Wallis, Edna was the daughter of Charles and Johanna (Klecka) Polasek. She was raised in Wallis and attended Guardian Angel Catholic School in Wallis. She was a lifelong homemaker. The former Edna Polasek married Bert Dibala, November 6, 1944 with ceremony held in Wallis. Edna was very active member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters, KJZT, and the American Legion Auxiliary, all of Wallis. She was the flag bearer for Catholic Daughters and KJZT for many years. Whenever there was an event at Church, Edna would always be there to help in any way she could. Edna enjoyed her family and friends very much. She is survived by her three sons, Thomas Dibala and wife Gladys of Rosenberg, James Dibala and wife Barbara, of Wallis, Dennis Dibala of Wallis, grandchildren Charles Dibala and wife Lisa of Needville, William Dibal and wife Jodi of Cypress, Brian Dibal of Houston, Eric Dibala of Wallis, Andrew Dibala of Rosenberg, great-grandchildren Zachary Dibala of Needville and Grant Dibala of Cypress. Preceded in death by her parents Charles and Johanna Polasek, husband Bert Dibala, sisters -- Sister Sophia Anna and Frances Mikes and brothers Frank and Charles Polasek.
