Eben Funeral services for Elsie Hohlt Eben, 94, of Bleiblerville, were held Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 at 2 p.m. from Salem Evangelical Lutheran church of Welcome with the Rev. Jason Korthauer officiating. Interment was at Welcome Cemetery. Pallbearers serving were Larry Schulz, Joseph Chovanec, Kermit Kolwes, Darryl Laake, Tommy Kubicek, and Tommy Kolwes. Born in Bleiblerville, Elsie was the daughter of Willie C. and Dora (Wehring) Holt. She was baptized on Nov. 10, 1912 at Welcome Lutheran Church by Pastor Aug. Beteit and confirmed on April 10, 1927 at Welcome Lutheran Church by Pastor Appel. Elsie was raised in Bleiblerville. She attended Victoria Public School. The former Miss Elsie Hohlt married Edgar Even on Aug. 31, 1933 in Bellville. She was a member of the SPJST Nelsonville-Bleiblerville #201, Salem Evangelical Lutheran of Welcome, Mary Martha Circle of Church and she was a homemaker. Elsie Holt Eben passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 in Bellville. She is survived by her daughters Gladys Lueckemeyer of Bellville, Doris Kubicek and husband Pete of New Ulm, sister Alberta Schulz of Brenham, sisters-in-law Birdie Hohlt of Columbus and Ligia Hohlt of Milwaukee, Wis., grandchildren Cindy and Kenneth Schulze, Linda and Darryl Laake, Kay Ethier, Thomas E. Kubicek, Diana Boehm and great grandchildren Kevin and Kayla Schulze, Kasey, D.J., Dustin and Kyle Laake, Ryan Ethier and Winter, Bridges and Autumn Boehm. Preceded in death by her parents, Willie C. and Meta Dora Wehring Holt, husband, Edgar Eben, brothers Raymond, Ben, Harold and Charles Hohlt, sister-in-law, Sadie Hohlt and son-in-law Robert Lueckemeyer.
